Read My World Festival – Threads of History
Follow the fibers of textiles through their cultural—and sometimes colonial—history. Threads of History shows how fabrics tell stories and carry meaning. Because textiles are more than material: they are a language of tradition, resistance, identity, and legacy, interwoven with the relationship between land, community, and craftsmanship.
With contributions by Gloria Lappya, the multimedia work of Remzky Nikijuluw, and a performance by Sunni Laman Barrow, where music, performance, and poetry come together.
Let yourself be inspired by color, music, and fashion. And importantly: come wearing a fabric, garment, or accessory that holds a special meaning for you, to share the story woven into it!
