Word As Entry Point to Grief x Workshop

DAS Theatre Workshops

June 2nd – 16h-22h

At the end of their 2nd year, our DAS Theatre students are invited to create a workshop: a sharing of the practice they developed during their studies. These workshops are open to anyone! A great way to get to know (fellow) artists and maybe go home with new knowledge and inspiration. All workshops are free of charge. And as always, we provide snacks and drinks!

Word as Entry Point to Grief

What happens when we cannot name our grieves? In this poetry/language workshop with Sunni Lamin Barrow, we will be ushered into the many grieves we carry and uncover the languages waiting beneath them. Beginning with the personal, we will write our way toward the universal and return again to ourselves. Task for attendees : How many days has it been since your last encounter with grief?

Sunni Lamin Barrow x poet x literary curator x theater maker x fashion maker working at the intersection of language and performance. Their current research investigates the emergence of a new genre at the intersection of Literature and Theater, speculated as Spoken word theater, a form that uproots poetry off the page and into a physical space.
